what is Mason up to?

Mason is growing up into such a little man. He speaks like such a grown-up, complete with animated hand gestures.

He can now write his name perfectly almost every try; can write the entire alphabet; and can spell very basic words. He loves to know how things are spelled and tried to spell words himself. "Mom, what does this spell? S-O-A-Q-R-R????"

He still loves his sandbox and can spend hours creating roads in it, or sitting down with a book or coloring.

His favorite word at the time: supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (sp?)

Still a big favorite...Power Rangers

more favorites...LEGOS, doing anything outside, he loves animals and makes sure that the little bird family living in our grill on the deck has water everyday.

Favorite food...chicken nuggets.

He really is such a pleasure to be with and I am fortunate to have such a wonderful family.

what is Reese up to?

Since I'm caught up on posting (ha!) I thought I'd do a little post all about Reese...

Reese is now 25 months and surprising us everyday with his new words, quirks and personality traits.

*Lately, he loves to tell everyone (especially Mason) "uh nuff" (enough) if they are talking/singing/anything too much, or more than he thinks they should. I suppose he hears that pretty often from his Momma.

*another favorite saying this week...
"ah luff maymay" (I love mason! awwwwww)
or "ah luff dunkkyyyy"

*He loves to count going up or down the stairs...
"one two tree foe fii sis seben aaaate nine tem lemen lemen lemen..."

*His favorite song to sing lately is "clementine"...
"oohh uhh darrr lin" (oh my darlin')

*he loves BALLS, his rubber boots, sandbox, books, horses and bike (just like his big brother did).

*He loves to do anything Mason does, good or bad, including growling, pouting, "oh mannn", and sulking about when denied, even if he has no idea why.

*He loves talking on his phone to his friends Sienna and Tatum or big brother Joe.

Reese has become increasingly independent..."I do it!!!!" is heard around here all the time and has actually started potty training on his own, though the diapers will probably be around for a while longer.

Such a sweet, sweet boy and I am thankful for him everyday :)

more updates

February
This month was pretty quiet...a few visits to Mimaw & Pipaw's with horse rides (Reese's favorite)

we celebrated Valentine's Day by making yummy (messy) cookies

and we took a trip to Florida to see the grandparents and Joe

(they all got haircuts after this photo)

one more handsome boy...

updates for the last 4 months!

December was great: we enjoyed visits with Grandma & Grandpa, Auntie Kathy and Joe, opened way too many presents, and celebrated Mason's 4th birthday.

January surprised us with a few days of snow...fun stuff for the Floridians...

until we had to drive in the iciness to the children's hospital for stitches. Ugh. Mason came inside from playing on the deck and slipped in his wet socks, fell onto Duncan's metal bowl and split open his chin:

he was just fine after a cupcake.

This brings our ER visits up to 4, stitches/staples count up to 2. Cross your fingers it doesn't continue to increase proportionately.

a few days later it snowed again!

that carrot, by the way, is from OUR garden!
